Rock on Ground’s executive management team consists of the following experienced personnel:
Alan Vickery founded Rock on Ground Pty Ltd and has been working in the mining industry in WA for over 30 years in the drill and blast field. In his early years in the industry, Alan was a respected Project Manager and Area Manager for Ausdrill, covering gold projects such as Marvel Loch, Mt Pleasant and St Ives. Alan then went on to provide blast consultancy work to BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto Projects in the Pilbara through his “Alan Vickery Blast and Mining Consultancy Pty Ltd business prior to establishing Rock on Ground in 2005.
Darren has over 25 years experience in the mining industry in Western Australia. He has held senior management roles with mining contractors Rock on Ground, BGC Contracting and Ausdrill. His experience prior to working for those contracting companies was with WMC Resources (now part of BHP Billiton). Darren’s professional experience covers: operations management; estimating and contract management; financial management; strategy and business planning; people management; change management; and business development and marketing. Darren joined Rock on Ground in April 2010.
Ben Daniel has been working in the drill & blast industry for 15 years and is Rock on Ground’s longest serving employee. Ben has experience in mine and construction blasting, having worked throughout Western Australia as well as overseas. Specialising in close to infrastructure construction blasting, Ben has run numerous projects implementing efficient and effective blast design. Conforming to stringent project flyrock, overpressure and vibration restrictions, his work has helped Rock on Ground establish itself as control blast specialists. Ben has been working with Rock on Ground since 2007.
Plant & Asset Manager
Rob brings over 25 years’ of experience in the mining industry to the Rock on Ground team. Rob is highly regarded within the industry for his expert knowledge in managing the maintenance of drill rigs and other ancillary mining equipment. Rob has strong people management skills and he ensures his site based maintenance teams are always challenged and held accountable to ensure that the fleet of equipment that his teams are responsible for are maintained to a high standard to ensure maximum availability levels. Rob has developed excellent preventative maintenance strategies, and adds additional value by utilising his vast network of supplier contacts to leverage competitive pricing for the purchasing side of the business. Rob joined Rock on Ground in 2012.
